Aerial photography coverage is only for selected areas in Washington State , with an emphasis on the Puget Sound region, in a variety of scales, from to the present. Selected print satellite images show entire countries, large areas of the Pacific Northwest, and some states. The best way to locate aerial photography coverage for an area you are interested in is to follow the steps below. The first steps can be done online or in the Map Collection.

Our GIS Team offers custom products and services using Geographical Information Systems, including Internet and desktop mapping application development; spatial data acquisition and processing; spatial modeling and analysis; and digital and hardcopy map products. RGIS Program provides an interactive mapping tool to search and download a wide variety of geospatial data. Our Image Archive consists of historical aerial photography, space shuttle imagery, satellite imagery, and topographic maps for New Mexico and the US Southwest. Our Image Processing Team offers services in processing and analyzing remotely acquired aerial and satellite data in support of a wide range of application areas including crop inventory, natural resource management, and border conflict resolution.
More than , images of the Earth's surface, collected between and , were declassified with the issuance of this Executive Order. Image collection was driven, in part, by the need to confirm purported developments in then-Soviet strategic missile capabilities. The images also were used to produce maps and charts for the Department of Defense and for other Federal Government mapping programs. In addition to the images, documents and reports collateral information are available, pertaining to frame ephemeris data, orbital ephemeris data, and mission performance. Document availability varies by mission; documentation was not produced for unsuccessful missions.
